Blogging goals for 2013

This year instead of setting myself new year resolutions for the year to come, I decided to set myself 52 goals for 2013. 52 might of been a bit too adventurous, it was some struggle trying to think of that many but I did it (maybe next year I might aim for a more manageable 12).

Anyway, a few of these goals have to do with blogging so I decided to share a few of them.
One of these goals is to have 50 blog followers and then carry out a giveaway to my lovely followers, giving away some items from my Etsy shop. I really hope I can succeed with this goal, I'd love to do a giveaway but there's no real point if i have no followers so I'm aiming for 50. So, if you'd like to win some free stuff, follow me!! I'm also thinking of having around five winners instead of just the one, so you'll have even more of a chance of winning.

Another one of my blogging goals is to fix up this blog a bit. It needs a bit of sprucing up and a personal touch.
I also have some posts I'm very excited about starting. One is to do a weekly post on '5 crafty projects to make with....', where i pick a crafty item or material or recyclable object and pick five things you can make and do with it. I have one planned for Friday focusing on reusing jars. I reuse jars for everything!!!

So yay, I'm very excited about the year to come and happy new year everyone. I hope it's a good one, and if you're a seller on Etsy I wish you many many sales for 2013.

Adventures in Multi-coloured Yarn

I'm loving multi-coloured yarn at the moment. I love the uniqueness of it and how different it looks. It's fun, quirky and makes the simplest design interesting.
I've been making lots of multi-coloured coasters, some that are available in my etsy shop, I think they're cute, I made some for my coffee table too.
I'm out of that yarn now, I think I'll definitely have to buy more at some stage and see what else I can make.
Any ideas??

Brown paper and doily Christmas wrapping

This Christmas I decided to try some alternatives to the same ole Christmas wrapping paper.
I googled some things and came across an idea of using simple brown paper prettied up with some doilies, and decided to try it for myself.
Here are my wrapped pressies so far. I think they look so pretty and I like that they're different from the wrapping you normally see.
As you can see, I made a doily envelope too as one of my presents was just a voucher and I wanted something pretty to put it in.

I think it looks lovely.

I'm very happy with how they turned out and I can't wait  to give them to people and see what they think.
And aswell as looking lovely, they were just as inexpensive as wrapping paper, if not cheaper.
I bought the brown paper in Easons for .89cent, a pack of 36 doilies for a euro and the twine in Easons aswell for 1.50. Now I just wish I had more presents to wrap.

I also used some of the doilies as Christmas decorations by hanging them on string across the ceiling - another great use for paper doilies.

Have a great Christmas everyone!!

A new adventure

I have recently opened an Etsy shop which I was super excited about (I love Etsy, I can't believe I hadn't heard about it until a few months ago). And since I only started crocheting this summer, I decided to start this blog to keep track of all my little crochet projects, and also to discover all the other amazing crafty blogs out there that I love reading.
So I'm very excited to start this new adventure and heres hoping I'll find loads of interesting and crafty people along the way.
